For Canadian Advisors

The Sigmalign
Advisor Council

A small named group of independent Canadian investment advisors, portfolio managers, and financial planners who review the Sigmalign behavioural instrument as it develops — and whose judgment shapes it before it reaches a client.

Built with advisors, not at them

Sigmalign Behavioural Intelligence Inc. is a Toronto-based company developing an advisor-facing instrument that measures behavioural tendencies known to influence how clients decide under stress. It is designed to sit alongside know-your-client and suitability workflows, not to replace them.

The instrument completed an independent academic desk review in 2026 and is now being redesigned under external psychometric oversight, ahead of panel validation and an advisor pilot planned for the first half of 2027. The Council exists so that advisor judgment is built into that process while it is still being decided, rather than consulted after launch.

Council members are listed publicly with their consent. Membership is fee-free and non-binding. It does not constitute participation in the Sigmalign advisor pilot, and it creates no commercial obligation.

Substantive without being burdensome

Members are consulted at four defined points in the development sequence, and receive a short written update in between. Consultations are tied to development milestones rather than fixed calendar dates, so that members are asked for input when there is something real to react to.

Four consultation points per development cycle
Point Focus What we ask for Format
One Scoping — what is worth measuring Which behavioural moments in a client relationship are most worth measuring, and where a behavioural read would change how you prepare Asynchronous · ~20 min
Two Item review — the rebuilt instrument Wording, client experience, and whether each item is plausible in a real meeting Asynchronous · ~30 min
Three Pricing and packaging — ahead of the pilot A view on candidate pricing structures. Sigmalign will not adopt a structure that lacks majority Council support Asynchronous vote
Four Retrospective and roadmap What the pilot showed, and a ranking of the next set of priorities. Members opt in for another year or step away Group call · 45 min, then a short 1-on-1
The rhythm between consultation points
Channel Cadence What it contains
Monthly update Second Tuesday of each month What changed, one decision made and why, one open question, and a member spotlight
Office hour Once per quarter An open video session. Drop in with any question. No agenda, no attendance expected
Ad hoc consultation Occasional A one-question email drawing on specific expertise, rotated across the roster so no one is over-asked
Consultation summary After every consultation What was asked, what members said and why, what Sigmalign is doing with it. Disagreements published alongside consensus

Where authority sits. Sigmalign retains final authority on the instrument and the product roadmap. The Council is a listening and signal body. On pricing, Sigmalign commits not to adopt a structure that lacks majority Council support. Everywhere else, member input is weighted seriously and answered in writing, but not delegated to.

When a member's feedback changes a decision, that member is named in the monthly update — a small acknowledgement of the Council's intent: your judgment is consequential, and its influence is visible.

Council members

The Council is being assembled deliberately and remains small by design. Members are listed here as they join and consent to be named. Recruitment is paced against the instrument's development so that members are brought in when there is substance for them to review.

Put your name forward

Council seats are extended by invitation and the group is intentionally small, so an expression of interest is not an application and not a commitment on either side. It tells us who you are and what you would want out of the work.

We are looking for licensed Canadian advisors with a planning-led practice and a genuine interest in behavioural science — people who will tell us when something does not survive contact with a real client meeting.

If there is a fit, Kris will follow up directly to talk it through before anything is signed.
