Privacy Policy

Effective 25 August 2026 · Sigmalign Behavioural Intelligence Inc.

Who we are

Sigmalign Behavioural Intelligence Inc. ("Sigmalign", "we", "us") is a Canadian corporation based in Toronto, Ontario. This policy explains what personal information we collect through this website, why we collect it, and what we do with it.

Questions, requests, and complaints about privacy can be sent to kris.podolski@sigmalign.ca. Kris Podolski, Founder and CEO, is responsible for privacy matters at Sigmalign.

What this website collects

Information you give us

If you complete the enquiry form or the Advisor Council expression-of-interest form, we collect what you enter: your name, email address, and — depending on the form — your institution or firm, professional designations, city and province, registration category, years in practice, research area, and your message.

You can also contact us by email instead of using a form. In that case we hold whatever you choose to send.

Information collected automatically

This website does not use analytics software, advertising trackers, or cookies. We do not build visitor profiles and we do not track you across other sites. A preference you set with the light/dark theme control is stored locally in your own browser and is never transmitted to us.

Like any web server, our hosting provider records standard access logs — including your IP address, the time of your request, the page requested, and your browser type — for security and diagnostic purposes. We do not use these logs for marketing.

This site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When a page loads, your browser requests those font files from Google's servers, which means your IP address is disclosed to Google as part of that request. We do not send Google any other information about you.

Why we use it, and on what basis

We use the information you submit only to:

  • respond to your enquiry or expression of interest;
  • assess whether there is a fit for academic collaboration or Advisor Council membership;
  • maintain a record of our correspondence with you; and
  • send you updates you have specifically asked to receive.

Both forms require you to tick a consent box before submitting. That consent is the basis on which we contact you. We do not add you to a marketing list, and we do not send you unrelated promotional material. You can withdraw your consent at any time by emailing us, and we will stop contacting you and delete your details on request, subject to any records we are required to keep.

Who we share it with

We do not sell personal information, we do not rent or trade it, and we do not disclose it to third parties for their own purposes.

We rely on a small number of service providers who process information on our behalf in order to run the business:

  • Web hosting. Our website and its server logs are hosted by Namecheap.
  • Email. Our business email runs on Microsoft 365, so form submissions and correspondence are stored in that mailbox.
  • Contact records. We may record your enquiry in the customer-relationship management system we use to keep track of correspondence.

Some of these providers operate servers outside Canada, which means your information may be stored or processed in another country and may be subject to the laws of that country, including lawful access requests by its authorities. A current list of our service providers is available on request.

We may also disclose personal information where we are required or permitted to do so by law.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry correspondence for as long as it remains relevant to the conversation, and no longer than is reasonably necessary for the purpose it was collected. If you ask us to delete your information, we will do so unless we are legally required to retain it.

How we protect it

This site is served over an encrypted connection (HTTPS). Form submissions are delivered by email to a single access-controlled mailbox and are not stored in a database on this website. Access to correspondence is limited to those at Sigmalign who need it. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

What this website is not

This website does not administer the Sigmalign assessment and does not collect assessment responses, client financial information, or any other client data. The Sigmalign instrument is in development and is not available for use.

If and when the instrument is administered in a research pilot, that activity will be governed by its own consent framework and participant information materials, agreed separately with the participating advisors and their clients. Nothing in this policy applies to that process.

Your rights

Under Canadian federal privacy law, you have the right to ask us:

  • what personal information we hold about you, and to be given access to it;
  • to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete;
  • to delete information we no longer need to hold; and
  • to withdraw a consent you previously gave.

Email kris.podolski@sigmalign.ca and we will respond within 30 days. We may need to verify your identity before acting on a request. If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a privacy matter, you may complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada at priv.gc.ca.

Children

This website is intended for financial professionals and researchers. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under the age of majority in their province or territory.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the business develops — in particular as the research pilot approaches. The effective date at the top of this page shows when it was last changed. Material changes will be noted on this page.
