1. About these terms

This website at sigmalign.ca is operated by Sigmalign Behavioural Intelligence Inc. ("Sigmalign", "we", "us"), a Canadian corporation based in Toronto, Ontario. By accessing or using this website you agree to these terms. If you do not agree with them, please do not use the site.

2. What this website is for

This website exists to describe a research initiative in progress. It is informational. Its purpose is to explain what Sigmalign is building, to invite academic collaboration, and to allow Canadian advisors to express interest in the Advisor Council.

Nothing on this site is an offer to sell a product or a service, and no product described here is currently available for purchase or use.

3. Not financial advice

Nothing on this website constitutes investment advice, financial planning advice, a securities recommendation, a suitability determination, a risk-tolerance assessment, or a clinical or psychological assessment. Nothing here should be relied on in making an investment or financial decision.

Using this site does not create an advisory, fiduciary, client, or professional relationship of any kind between you and Sigmalign or its founder. Sigmalign is not registered as a dealer, adviser, or investment fund manager with any Canadian securities regulator, and the material on this site is not offered in any registered capacity.

If you need advice about your own circumstances, consult a registered advisor who is qualified to give it.

4. Research status and no warranty of results

The Sigmalign instrument described on this site is in development. It has not been validated. Statements about its design, the tendencies it is intended to measure, how results will be expressed, and the timing of any pilot or release are descriptions of current intent and are subject to change as the research proceeds.

Sigmalign makes no claim, express or implied, that the instrument improves investment returns, predicts market outcomes, predicts the behaviour of any individual, or satisfies any regulatory obligation. It is designed to sit alongside know-your-client and suitability processes and does not replace them. Responsibility for regulatory compliance rests at all times with the registrant.

The content of this site is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including warranties of accuracy, completeness, merchantability, and fitness for a particular purpose.

5. Intellectual property

All content on this website — including text, layout, design, graphics, the SIGMALIGN name and wordmark, and the "Sigmalign Score" name — is owned by Sigmalign Behavioural Intelligence Inc. or used with permission, and is protected by Canadian and international intellectual property law.

You may read, link to, and quote briefly from this site with attribution. You may not reproduce it substantially, republish it, sell it, or use it to build a competing or derivative instrument, dataset, or product without our prior written permission. You may not use automated means to extract content from this site for the purpose of training a machine-learning model without our prior written permission.

The underlying instrument, its items, its scoring methodology, and its supporting documentation are confidential and proprietary, and are not published on this site.

6. Information you send us

When you submit a form or email us, you confirm that the information you provide is accurate and that you are entitled to provide it. Personal information is handled as described in our privacy policy.

Please do not send us confidential information, client information, or unsolicited ideas or proposals you expect us to treat as confidential. Unless we have signed a confidentiality agreement with you, anything you send us is not treated as confidential and creates no obligation on our part.

Submitting an expression of interest in the Advisor Council is not an application, creates no membership, and creates no obligation on either side. Council membership, if extended, is fee-free, non-binding, separately documented, and withdrawable at any time.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to use this site to send unsolicited commercial messages, to attempt to gain unauthorised access to it, to interfere with its operation, to submit false information, or to do anything unlawful.

8. Third-party links

This site links to third-party websites and loads typefaces from a third-party service. We do not control those services, we are not responsible for their content or their practices, and a link is not an endorsement.

9. Availability

We do not guarantee that this site will be available without interruption or free of errors, and we may change, suspend, or withdraw any part of it at any time without notice.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sigmalign, its directors, officers, and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising out of your access to or use of this website or your reliance on anything contained in it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

11. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable in Ontario. You agree to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Ontario for any dispute arising out of these terms or your use of this site.

12. Changes to these terms

We may revise these terms as the business develops. The effective date above shows when they were last changed, and continuing to use the site after a change means you accept the revised terms.
